Since this is the case, it is essential to come with an open mind. In Israel, it is important to note that people communicate with each other in a different way. A conversation or negotiation which may begin with ‘yelling,’ will most likely end in everyone hugging and playing Jewish (aka Israeli) geography.
I have witnessed this situation multiple times, so don’t be alarmed and try not to let your foreign mindset influence your reaction. It is best to have someone (preferably a native Israeli) who can speak on your behalf. Make sure you choose someone who you trust and who knows and understands the current landscape. They can also help you figure out how to find a wedding venue abroad.
Israel is not a cheap country.
Although the wedding aborad prices may not be quite as high as in America, you must still pay for quality. If you are looking for an authentic event that matches your vision, budget accordingly. The bar is set very high here and if you anticipate spending and set aside a healthy amount, you will receive EXCELLENT service. Some say even better than in the States!
