They met on a hiking trail and never really came back down. 301 guests, four hundred candles, and a forest that needed no decorating whatsoever.
The rule we set on day one was that nothing we brought in could be taller than the trees or louder than the band. Everything else followed from there: low light, low tables, a ceremony aisle that was simply the gap between two pines.
It rained for eleven minutes during the ceremony and nobody moved. We had a plan for it and did not need to use it, which is our favourite kind of plan.
The dancing finished at three on moss instead of a floor, and every single pair of shoes was ruined. Everyone agreed it was worth it.
